The Family Room is a shared space you invite people into. Your own vault stays yours. The Family Kit adds guided prompts for the moments when everyone is already in the room.
How it works
Shared with family.
Not the whole internet.
There are no public links. Every person who can see a family album was invited by name, agreed to a consent screen, and can leave or be removed at any time. Sharing outside the family is also by name: one person, one album or one photo, optionally until a date.
- Create a Family Room. The person who pays becomes the owner and can make others organizers.
- Invite by email. Owners and organizers send invitations with a role: organizer, contributor or viewer. Each invitation is single-use and expires if it is not accepted.
- Consent before joining. The invitee sees who invited them, the role, exactly what the family will and will not see, and must agree before the invitation takes effect. Signing in alone is not acceptance.
- Share albums, not vaults. Members add photos to family albums or grant one named person access to an album or a single photo. Nothing else in their vault is visible to anyone.
- Leave or revoke at any time. Any member can leave; the owner and organizers can remove members or revoke pending invitations. Access stops immediately and private files stay untouched.
Roles
Who can do what.
A family owner never sees your private vault. Not the organizer. Not support staff. Every album and photo is checked against your account on the server each time it is opened; a role is a permission, not a key to everything.
